MItsubishi lancer 2008 ready to overtake Honda civics in M'sia






With a very competitive price Mitsubishi Lancer 2008 is on the road again in Malaysia. for full specs it on the road with only RM115000 while for standard only RM1030000. Full spec comes with massive 18 inch wheel, full body kit and extra accessories , However both will have 2.0 mivec engine under its hood and it is CBU!. The price is absolutely amazing as so called evo X (prototype X) will be the main point of reference for Lancer 2008 owners to modified their Lancer. Power of up to 155hp is excellent enough to take over the other cars in highways.

Kia Pro cee'd



Sporty new Kia Pro cee'd coming soon, very different with any of Kia model in the past. Will Naza take a chance to assemble it at their plant in Gurun/Bertam Penang. While not many of Malaysian trust the quality of Korean cars due to short of spare parts, NAZA could play a role on producing the spare part and assembling KIA cars

JDM Civic Type R finally comes to Malaysia








Japan-only Civic Type R sedan eventually come to Malaysia, August 02, the new Civic Type R will go on sale in Malaysia after 5 months already on sale in Japan. . Based on the current Civic 4-door, the Type R is powered by a screaming, normally aspirated 2.0-liter four cylinder (K20A) that eclipses 100 hp/liter, producing around 225 ponies at 8,000 rpm and 159 lb-ft of torque at 6,100 rpm.. A six-speed manual transmission feeds power to the front wheels -- 18-inch units shod with a set of Bridgestone Potenzas. Four-piston Brembos are visible between the spokes and provide the car's stopping power. Body rigidity is said to be 50% better than that of the previous Integra Type R (Acura RSX), and the car weighs in at 1,250 kg (2755 lbs) with no A/C installed. The creature comfort adds another 20 kg (44 lbs).




Externally, a redesigned front fascia incorporates a large lower air intake for improved breathing. The hood and front fenders are unique to the Type R, as is the rear bumper with its integrated diffuser. Red "H" emblems, sill extensions and the to-be-expected rear wing cap off the car's racy look. Type R badging adorns the rear of the car, and logo decals are available for owners who want to add them to the spot in front of the rear wheel cutout. Additionally, Modulo provides an aftermarket stripe kit and accessory driving lights, both of which you can see in the attached gallery. Viewed in profile, the Type R has an aggressive stance, with a decidedly pointed snout. It is the best-looking Civic sedan available in any market. Inside, Type R-exclusive front seats await the driver and passenger, and the upholstery is available in either all-black or a black-and-red two-tone. An aluminum shift knob, metallic pedals, red steering wheel logo, and an Engine Start button make it clear that this is not your ordinary Civic, while options such as ambient lighting in the footwells and Honda's hard-disk navigation system allow for further personalization.

New Savvy Sedan






It is a new Savvy sedan. Noticed the disguise was a little different on this one, it was much more covered up than the usual GEN2 Sedans we’ve already seen driving around. It was also missing the beestring antenna that was on the earlier Proton GEN2 Sedan spyshots.

It looks smaller - the GEN2 Sedan’s boot is much longer. This looks more like a new B-Segment car, which matches the profile of Proton’s upcoming BLM model replacement for the Proton Saga or Proton Iswara, depending on which generation you want to refer to it as. It must be taken from Savvy platform.

Nothing much is revealed as the disguise is pretty thick. You do get to see some of the headlamp detail though, but it’s very minimal. Nevertheless, I expect the headlamp design to be stunning as with all the new generation Proton cars.

PROTON, in a survey recently, was placed amongst the top ranked manufacturers in customer satisfaction of new car purchases. The survey was conducted by Which Car? in the United Kingdom.The survey - UK's largest with more than 93,000 respondents - placed Proton second to Lexus and ahead of brands such as Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Nissan.

The survey revealed that some 75 per cent of owners were very satisfied with their showroom experience and service at Proton while Lexus took top honours with 82 per cent.Readers purchasing a car from a franchised dealer had been asked to rate the customer sales experience using a five-point scale, ranging from `very satisfied' to `very dissatisfied'.

"Of course, when we have no direct contact with the end buyer it means we can only rely on our dealers to make the sale and continue looking after them well in terms of after sales service," said Proton Cars UK Limited managing director Brian Collier.

Proton Cars UK has set a goal of recruiting a further 30 dealers by the end of 2007.
Currently, it offers the 1.2-litre Savvy, the 1.3 and 1.6-litre GEN.2, the 1.6-litre Impian or Waja, and the new Satria Neo.

Proton's franchised dealer network to date includes 80 full sales dealers, 20 Jumbuck specialist dealers and 26 service and parts only dealers.

Between 1989 and 2004, in excess of 120,000 vehicles were sold.

New Kia carens..Will it replace our new Naza Citra




New Carens marks a major advance for our compact MPV model. It incorporates a host of significant improvements in every category – design, comfort, performance, versatility, quality and safety. New Carens will certainly have great appeal to new and existing Kia customers across the world.
Room for seven with greater versatility
Making best use of the longer wheelbase and wider cabin, Kia engineers also created an innovative ‘shallow’ fuel tank mounted integrally with the rear suspension sub-frame, which allowed the rear cabin floor to be lowered by 40mm, boosting interior space and ensuring that the rear row seats in the seven-seater will accommodate two 1.8 metre adults in comfort.
In both versions, the middle and/or rear row seats fold down to create a flat-floored luggage area. With five seats occupied, luggage space is more than 400 litres and with just the driver and front passenger on board, up to 2,106 litres of cargo can be carried.
Two newly developed 2.0-litre engines, diesel engine with DPF
Kia is offering European Carens customers a choice of one diesel engine and one gasoline engine (both Euro4 compliant), with manual gearboxes or automatic transmissions, so they can choose the power train that best suits their motoring needs.
Kia’s upgraded four-cylinder 2.0 CRDi diesel engine features a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) that comes with a diesel particle filter (DPF) as standard. It generates 103kW and has a six-speed manual gearbox. The twin-cam four-cylinder 2.0-litre ‘Theta’ gasoline engine, with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT), produces 106 kW and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Improved suspension, steering and braking
New Carens’ significantly wider track (up by more than 80mm), longer wheelbase (up by 130mm), and stiffer bodyshell have inherent benefits for the new model’s agility, ride, handling and safety.
The fully independent suspension systems, both front and rear, are designed to deliver responsive handling and a supple, comfortable ride. For agile handling in everyday driving, the New Carens model has a hydraulic power-assisted rack and pinion steering system with relatively high gearing, requiring just 2.86 turns of the wheel from lock-to-lock with the standard 16-inch wheels.
New Carens’ braking system has larger and thicker ventilated front discs and solid rear discs for powerful, secure and stable braking performance, backed up by ABS with EBD. Stopping from 100km/h is achieved in a braking distance of just 41.8 metres.

Nissan make a comeback with Latio






Available in two bodystyles – sedan and hatchback – the Latio (pronounced ‘la-she-o’ and not ‘la-tee-o’) uses the Nissan B platform which is also shared with some Renault models like the new Clio. It will be offered with a choice of two engine sizes – 1.6 litres and 1.8 litres – and both 4-cylinder engines were developed jointly with Renault. Besides having DOHC 16-valve cylinder heads, the all-aluminium engines have Nissan’s Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control (CVTC) and Drive-By-Wire throttle control for quicker response.
The performance claims for the engines are as follow:HR16DE 1598 cc: 109 ps at 6000 rpm, 153 Nm at 4400 rpm, 13.9 kms/litre consumptionMR18DE 1798 cc: 126 ps at 5200 rpm, 174 Nm at 4800 rpm, 13.0 kms/litre consumptionAn interesting difference in the dimensions of the two engines is that the smaller engine is undersquare (longer stroke) while the larger one is overquare (shorter stroke).


The Latio Sedan will be available with both the engines in four versions: Latio 1.6ST Manual; Latio 1.6 ST Auto; Latio 1.6ST-L Auto; and Latio 1.8Ti Auto. The Latio Hatchback will be known as the Latio Sport and have only the 1.6-litre engine and automatic transmission. Besides a half dozen colour choices, the Latio Sport will also have one exclusive colour – Harvest Yellow.
The suspension layout comprises independent MacPherson struts in front and a simple H-shaped torsion beam axle with stabilizer at the rear. A notable feature in the front suspension is the provision of internal rebound springs and also the use of ripple control telescopic dampers which are said to enhance ride and handling.

New mini


Mini has previewed the car as four concepts at various motor shows over the past couple of years. The first was revealed at Frankfurt in September 2005 (bottom left), then Tokyo in October of the same year (top right), Detroit in January 2006 (top left) and then finally at the Geneva exhibition in March '06 (bottom right). What is new is the space. The stretched wheelbase (80mm) means more room rear legroom (80mm), but don't forget we’re talking in comparison to the sardine-tin hatchback here. The marketing bods believe the rear seats now offer ‘a new experience in the Mini world, with inner values and extroverted flair. And the combination of that feeling so typical of Mini’. Hmmm... Our main experience so far has been of cramped rear seats!At least luggage capacity rises from 160 to 260 litres or, with the rear seats folded flat, from 680 to 930 litres. For comparison, a Ford Fiesta accommodates 253 and 892 litres respectively.

New Proton Sedan a.k.a Proton Pesona



200 bookings in just two days for new Proton modelBy SHARIDAN M.ALISHAH ALAM: About 200 bookings have been received in just two days for the latest Proton model, to be launched by mid-August. The yet to-be-named 1.6-litre sedan would be priced between RM45,000 and RM50,000, said Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd (EON) managing director Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir. “Since our soft launch two days ago, EON and Proton Edar Sdn Bhd have received about 200 bookings,” he said. He believed that the improved quality of the new car would also boost the sales of EON which had set a target to sell 40,000 units this year against 33,000 sold last year. “Also our sales of Audi, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Hyundai are picking up this year,” he said, adding that EON had forecast its sales would exceed Proton Edar's sales by 30% to 40% this year. The new model was also expected to enhance the company's performance for the year, Syed Hisham said after the company EGM on Monday.

NASTY HONDA CIVIC EK3 TYPE-R





Type-R Honda civic. Modified from 1.5 liter SOHC engine with 1800 liter B-18c makes 200hp boost on power, amount which is considered very2 high to a 1800cc NA engine The modification to tis VTEC engine is considered light but highly capable in challenging other Turbo charge engine like Mitsubishi EVO or WRX. Induction system for this engine was modified to K&N air fileter which gone through ram funnel which have a big hose changing the original resonator. Programmed ECU from Mugen for high performace.
